AURA Dance Companies are for young dancers who want to take their training beyond the weekly class. Designed for committed performers with a passion for dance, our companies provide a professional, inspiring environment where dancers are challenged to grow both technically and artistically.

Led by industry professionals, company members train as part of a dedicated team, working towards exciting performances, creative projects, workshops and unique opportunities throughout the year. Along the way, they build confidence, resilience and lasting friendships while learning the commitment, teamwork and discipline that comes with being part of a company.

Entry into our Dance Companies is by audition, allowing us to create groups of dancers who are ready to train, perform and progress together. We look for potential, commitment and a positive attitude just as much as technical ability.

AURA is a space for young dancers to explore ideas, take creative risks and develop their own artistic voice. Whether they aspire to professional training or simply want to immerse themselves in high-quality dance, our aim is to help them become skilled, thoughtful and expressive artists as well as confident, capable young people.
What is commercial dance?
Commercial Dance has become an increasingly important part of training within top dance institutions and the wider professional industry. Drawing from styles such as Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary and Street Dance, Commercial routines are high-energy, powerful and expressive. It is also a style that young people naturally connect with, as it is so present in everyday culture- from music videos and live performances to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and cheerleading.

At AURA, we are committed to keeping all choreography, music and styling age-appropriate, while still giving our dancers exciting, current and high-impact training.
What is contemporary dance?
CContemporary dance is a versatile and expressive style that combines technical training with creativity, musicality and individual interpretation. It draws on a range of movement influences, allowing dancers to explore dynamics, fluidity, floorwork, control and release.

At AURA, our contemporary training is designed to help dancers develop both strong technique and a clear artistic voice. Alongside learning choreographed material, dancers are encouraged to make their own stylistic choices, experiment with movement and explore how they want to communicate as performers.
​
Classes may include improvisation, creative tasks and collaborative projects, with opportunities for dancers to develop their own ideas and create original work. This approach builds confidence, individuality and a deeper understanding of choreography, while helping each dancer become a more thoughtful, versatile and expressive artist.
